Thank you for your interest and participation in the 8th Annual Party in Pink 5K. With the unprecedented circumstances of COVID-19, your safety in attendance at this event is at the top of our list. With that in mind, we have provided a “Virtually Wild Run” opportunity for those who would prefer to participate on their own time with less social interaction.

For those who choose to participate in-person and in real-time, we have guidelines to promote a safe and fun opportunity. Please read through the instructions below and be respectful of other participants and volunteers at the event :

 

CDC SAFETY GUIDELINES

Our goal is to follow all recommended CDC safety guidelines.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

Please keep a distance of 6 ft. from anyone who is not a part of your residence.

MASK/FACE COVER

(Solid fabric/cloth covering mouth and nose) – All participants must wear a mask during event line-up prior to the race. You may remove the mask while participating in the run/walk, but be respectful of others when passing other race participants by keeping a social distance of 6ft. or by wearing your mask.

PACKET PICK-UP

Packets will be available for curbside pick-up at Tharp Design (307 A Avenue) on Thursday, July 30, 2020, from 3PM-7PM and on race day (Friday, July 31) at Riverside Park beginning at 4PM.

BIBS

Bibs will be pre-assigned.

WAVE/ROLLING START

A wave/rolling start will be set with markers to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Each row will have a maximum of three people with 6 ft. between them. Note: This format creates an interesting dynamic and will require a fair amount of space to coordinate. Volunteers will be on-site to support coordination. Your patience and cooperation are appreciated.

WATER/REFRESHMENTS

Water Stations along the race route will not be available this year due to COVID-19. Volunteers will be distributing single-serving bottles of water at the end of the race. If you need water during the race, you must furnish your own. Please note, cookies and bananas will not be provided at the end of the race as they have in years past.

HAND SANITIZER

It is recommended you bring hand sanitizer for use throughout the event though limited supplies will be available on-site.

START/FINISH

A separate start and finish line will be established in the same location on Park Drive. Volunteers will be available to help in navigation.

AWARDS

Awards will be mailed to participants. Please make sure your contact and mailing information is correct when registering for the event.

FIRST AID STATION

A first aid station will be on-site.

MASSAGE STATION

This feature of the event will not be available this year.

GIFTS OF HOPE INFORMATION

These safety guidelines have been put in place to allow us to continue the tradition and purpose of this event. Our focus and goal remain to raise funds for Gifts of Hope and create awareness of the importance of early detection for breast cancer. Please follow our Facebook page (@PartyinPink5K). Posts will include event updates, the National Anthem for our race start, survivor stories, additional opportunities to support Gifts of Hope, and information on how to access funds if you or someone you know is in need.
